Meet Renacres Physiotherapy Team
Nicola is an acupuncture trained, musculoskeletal physiotherapist with a special interest in hands. Nicola qualified with a 2:1 in Physiotherapy from Huddersfield University in 2004. She immediately entered the NHS with the Royal Liverpool and Broadgreen NHS Trust where she rotated around several areas including, hydrotherapy, complex rehabilitation and respiratory. She moved to Whiston hosital in 2008 but left after just 6 months when she was offered a Physiotherapy role with Nuffield Health in Chester. Following the arrival of her daughter she decided to leave her role in Chester and joined Ramsay healthcare in July 2013. Nicola took over as Physiotherapy Manager in November 2019. Nicola completed her acupuncture training in Sept/Oct 2012 and her British Association of Hand therapists (BAHT) level one in Jan/Feb 2015. She has also completed an MSC module in the Assessment of the Upper limb. She is currently working towards a qualification in Leadership.
James completed NHS core rotations first after qualitfying and following that he took a role working at Ramsay Helath Care as a Musculoskeletal physiotherapist at Euxton Hall Hospital before moving to Renacres Hospital. Along side this James currently works in elite professional sports including football and tennis. James is currently studying towards his MSc in Sports and Exercise Medicine at Manchester metropolitan university.
Anna has a special interest in female pelvic dysfunction including stress, urge and mixed urinary incontinence, prolapses, complex pelvic pain and pre and post Gynaecological surgery. Her treatment techniques include specific individual exercise plans, manual therapy, biofeedback, muscle stimulation, acupuncture and current evidence based lifestyle advice. Anna has 16 years experience treating Spinal, Upper limb and Lower limb conditions initially a large NHS Teaching Hospital and for 10 years in the Private Sector.
Paul has a special interest in Inpatient elective orthopaedic surgery. Paul also manages a cohort of outpatients predominantly lower limb post-surgery. As part of his continual professional development he attends annual conferences for Quality Improvement for Surgical Teams (QIST) to maintain evidence-based practice.
Helen qualified with a 2:1 in Physiotherapy from Sheffield Hallam University in 1997. She began working for the NHS with Southport and Formby NHS Trust where she rotated around several areas including, out patients, medical/surgical wards, Regional Spinal injuries Centre,Orthopaedics and respiratory. Helen moved to the Royal Albert Edward Infirmary in Wigan in 1999 where she worked on medical, surgical wards and ITU over a 2 year period. She then moved back to Southport Hospital where she worked on the Regional Spinal injuries unit for 2 years before moving to a role in Musculoskeletal outpatients, assessing and treating complex conditions, arranging appropriate investigations and referring for appropriate management. Helen completed her acupuncture training in 2000.
Vicki is our vestibular physiotherapist at Renacres Hospital, with a special interest in balance and dizziness conditions. She also works extensively in pain management and is able to provide acupuncture, rehabilitation exercise, manual therapy and other therapeutic techniques.
Cath Morris is one of our physiotherapists at Renacres Hospital who is acupuncture trained and has a special interest in hands. Cath has worked with adults with young onset dementia, in a horticulture setting; worked in a school for boys with behavioural difficulties and set up a horticulture project for young adults with learning difficulties.
Zoe is a physiotherapy technician, currently in training, and you will find her on the ward helping patients after orthopedic surgery. A qualified sports massage therapist, Zoe has worked several years in massage therapy before deciding to broaden her learning path and skills. She has been working with the Renacres Physiotherapy team since January 2018.
