Mr Oakley is a Consultant Orthopaedic Surgeon who specialises in primary and revision (redo) joint replacements of the hip and knee. For those patients who are suitable he actively promotes an enhanced recovery approach. He was appointed as a Consultant at Wrighington Hospital after completing his Orthopaedic training on the Oswestry/Stoke Orthopaedic Training Rotation. During his specialist Orthopaedic training Mr Oakley spent 18 months working in the Specialist Arthroplasty Unit at the Robert Jones and Agnes Hunt Orthopaedic Hospital in Gobowen. On completion of his training he spent a further year on the John Charnley Fellowship at Wrightington under the supervision of Mr John Hodgkinson to gain further expertise in the field of lower limb arthroplasty. Along with his clinical commitments Mr Oakley actively pursues academic research and training interests, evident by numerous peer reviewd publications and his role as an examiner for senior orthopaedic trainees in preparation for their consultancy exams.
