Mr George Pavlou qualified in 2001 and currently practices as a consultant with a specialist interest in adult knee and hip reconstruction. He completed his specialist orthopaedic training at the Robert Jones and Agnes Hunt Orthopaedic Hospital followed by fellowship training at the Princess Elizabeth knee reconstruction unit in Exeter.
In addition George was awarded the British Orthopaedic Association/EFORT travelling fellowship, where he visited centres in Marseille, Nice and the Hospital for Special Surgery in New York. He now currently practices his NHS work load at Wrightington Specialist Orthopaedic Hospital.
His clinical interests are that of joint replacement surgery of the knee and hip and revision surgery for infection and aseptic loosening. He also has a specialist interest in arthroscopic surgery of the knee and knee replacements, which are problematic. For those patients who are suitable candidates Mr Pavlou looks to promote enhanced recovery for his joint replacement patients.
George actively pursues an academic and research interest and has numerous prestigious peer review publications and presentations in both the British, European and American Orthopaedic literature.
